Nara
Nara, located in the Kansai region of Japan, was the country’s first permanent capital and remains an important cultural and historical center. The city is known for its well-preserved temples, shrines, and gardens, many of which are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Notable landmarks include Todai-ji, which houses the Great Buddha statue, and Kasuga Taisha, famous for its thousands of lanterns
Nara Park, located in the city center, is home to hundreds of free-roaming deer, which are considered sacred in Shinto belief. Nara’s historical significance and its role in the development of Japanese Buddhism make it a key destination for those interested in Japan’s cultural heritage.
